Sort That Sound! Activity Set

Help your child improve their phonemic awareness and phonics skills with this engaging activity based on the Science of Reading! Kids will enjoy the fun challenge of matching colorful picture tiles to their correct sound tiles. The set features 44 phoneme sounds of English, with 5 double-sided picture cards for each sound, totaling 220 picture tiles.

Each picture tile has an image with Elkonin sound boxes below it, highlighting the targeted sound. The reverse side of the tile shows the same image with the word written underneath and the matching letter highlighted. Children can use sorting trays to pair the sound tiles with the correct picture tiles. When working independently, they can verify their sorting by checking the reverse side of the sound tiles, which shows the corresponding picture tiles.

To get started, follow the instructions, and sort and file the picture cards as directed. Set up the activity with the sounds and letters you've already introduced. Since this set covers all 44 phoneme sounds, it suits various skill levels.
