Explore Budgeting

Learning to manage money is an important life skill, and the Explore Budgeting curriculum is a fun and effective way to help your child get started. This program teaches essential financial skills, such as budgeting, managing spending, and understanding what happens when money is mismanaged. The lessons cover six main topics: How Much?, Daily Budget, Weekly Budget, Monthly Budget, Loans and Investments, and Putting It All Together.

Each lesson introduces simple vocabulary and colorful visuals to make the concepts easier to understand. After explaining the topic, students work through real-life scenarios with many visual aids to help them learn. They then complete worksheets, which include pictures designed to make answering questions more engaging. Many of the worksheets are multiple-choice, making them simple to follow.

As your child progresses through the lessons, they'll also pick up practical skills like how to read a paycheck, use a debit card, figure out sales tax, and more. The examples and word problems are relatable and fun, helping kids practice basic math skills like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and percentages as they learn how to manage money.

The teacher's manual includes everything you need for all 78 lessons, with clear instructions, goals, background information, and answer keys. Each lesson typically takes 20-30 minutes to complete.
