Product details
What's It For? is an interactive book that helps children understand the function of everyday objects, improve their ability to categorize, and practice answering “WH” questions (like “What’s it for?” “Where is it?” and “What is it?”). Designed by an autism expert, this book helps children improve vocabulary, comprehension, and early literacy skills.
Each page starts with a "What's it for?" question, followed by pictures of three objects that answer the question. Children attach the pictures to Velcro squares to match the objects. For example, “Where did I sit? I sat on a bench. I sat on a couch. I sat on a chair,” and the child will match the corresponding pictures of a bench, couch, and chair. The last sentence teaches children how to categorize objects, like “A bench, a couch, and a chair are all types of furniture.”
This durable laminated book features Velcro-backed pictures and can be used repeatedly. The loose-leaf binder rings allow you to reorder or remove pages as needed.
