Product details

This game set offers a fun and interactive way for kids to use Picture Communication to express their thoughts and interact with others. With various games to play, this set makes learning enjoyable and is an excellent resource for parents, teachers, or therapists. The games keep kids engaged and motivated to communicate with pictures. Plus, the game box is color-coded, making it easy to stay organized and ready for play.

The games cover 11 important topics: Places, Playgrounds & Parks, Hygiene, Senses, Feelings, Around Town (Transportation & Community Helpers), Objects, Small Groups (Weather, Seasons & Days of the Week), Food/Drink, School, and Social.

Each topic includes two game boards, each with 18 receptive (understanding) cards and 18 expressive (speaking) cards. Five game formats are designed to teach these topics in a fun and accessible way. These formats make it easier for children with language and motor delays to participate in activities they might otherwise struggle with, and everything is designed to be accessible.

Game Formats:

Functional World of Communication Game: In this game, players move their pieces around the board and answer questions based on the Topic Stimulus Cards. The pieces are large and easy to hold, which is helpful for kids with fine motor challenges. Each card has four response levels, so the difficulty can be adjusted to fit the player’s needs. Nonverbal players can use the symbols provided to point or use eye movements to answer.

Spinning with Communication: This game uses an Electronic Spinner, boards, and Topic Stimulus Cards. Players take turns answering questions and then spin the spinner to collect tokens. The player with the most tokens at the end wins!

You can also use the boards for games like Bingo, Lotto, and Tic-Tac-Toe. In Bingo and Lotto, players place tokens on their boards to complete rows or fill the entire board. Tic-Tac-Toe adds a competitive element, allowing two players to fill in squares on a color-coded board.

These games are adaptable and can be modified to suit the needs of different children, including nonverbal kids, younger children with language delays, kids with autism, or children with hearing impairments. The set comes with an instruction booklet that includes an index of topics and symbols, making it easy to select what to focus on during each session. Built with durable, washable pieces, this game set is made to last for years.

This set includes 44 Double-Sided Communication Boards, 22 Topic Area Boards (2 for each of the 11 topics, each with 9 pictures), 396 Question Cards (198 Receptive and 198 Expressive), an Electronic Spinner (with battery), Game Markers, a Game Board, and Color-Coded Foam Bingo Squares.
